Anyone been to Spa or Monza?

I will be going to both tracks for the first time, and would like to have opinions on the best viewing locations. Although I have some ideas based upon history and camera angles, I don't know how these translate in regard to actual seating areas. And, are seats even necessary? Thoughts, please.

Why didn’t I find this

Why didn’t I find this post earlier? Keep up the good work!

Spa Race

Seats are definitely recommended. Went with my wife a few years back. Sat at the start/finish line under cover. I would say these are good seats or seats with a view on eau rouge...can't beat seeing those cars come down and up that hill....I would probably find those seats if I were you.

I went to Spa over ten years

I went to Spa over ten years ago now. We didn't have seats, but I did regret that because it was quite damp and most of the decent viewing areas were not on flat ground. So I ended up spending the day desperately trying not to slide down a muddy hill. My advice get a seat.

monza

first off let me say monza is my favorite track-amazing place, amazing track (for racing and spectating), amazing fans, amazing history! as i used to live in milano, monza was basically in may backyard. my favorite place from which to watch is variante ascari, which a chicane on the back side of the track after a highspeed section, and onto another highspeed section before the entrance to the famous increasing radius parabolica, which opens out to the home straight, start/finish line. seats are necessary, and the good ones are hard to get, as the race is always sold out, not including those who sneak in and know how to get into the grandstands. be prepared for the crowds, they are huge, and those who sneaked into the stands make two seats (bench style w/numbers) into three-literally. plan on being cozy, because you will have someone against each shoulder. the italians take this race very seriously, and people travel from all over the world to witness the spectacle that is monza. i always park in the church parking lot on the north side of monza park (very large park), and enter the park through an adjacent opening in the wall that surrounds the entire park (used to be private hunting grounds with imported animals), and walk through the park to the track-best that you get a map of the park prior to the weekend. plan to arrive early which is great for people watching and getting settled.
good luck, it won't disappoint,
