Raikkonen loses his cool at Silverstone 2008

From F1-Photo.com:

"Following the incident involving Kimi Raikkonen and Paul-Henri Cahier on the starting grid of the British Grand Prix in Silverstone, that saw the finnish driver assault the photographer, we decided that it was necessary to clarify a few points.

There never was any contact between the two men, nor did Paul-Henri ever touch Kimi's equipment. Furthermore, the distance at which Paul-Henri Cahier was taking a picture, although close, was completely standard. The photographers who take pictures at Grand Prix races are all professionals who have been accredited by the FIA, and as the dozen other photographers who were standing next to Paul-Henri Cahier prove, there was nothing unusual or unethical about this situation.

Finally, Paul-Henri Cahier has been an F1 photographer for almost fourty years and has been close to the greatest champions, but none of them has ever behaved in such a rude manner. It is understandable that drivers might get irritable because of the pressure they undergo, but Kimi Raikkonen never even attempted to express his discontent in a non violent way. Paul-Henri Cahier luckily did not suffer any injury, and so does not intend to take any action, but he regrets the arrogance with which Kimi Raikkonen treated someone who was merely doing his job."

Kimi's Reaction

Does this mean there will never be any raffels of Kimi's photos at SFF1 events? Does this also mean that Kimi fans are not as welcome to SFF1 events?

Although I agree Kimi's reaction is not appropriate, I believe anyone would be annoyed if you were surrounded by a pack of Paparazzi. I understand that Paul-Henri is a professional F1 photographer and not a paparazzi, but it's difficult to distinguish given the situation.

I am a Kimi fan because of his driving. His nick name "Ice-man" is earned on the track and not because he likes ice in his alcoholic beverages. It sounded like Paul-Henri was pretty bitter of the situation. I hope that he will continue to be a F1 photographer who is a professional, Kimi or not.

King

BTW, I think I was "assulted" by all the chicks at the club last night. They all pushed me away!

Kimi's Reaction

It's a natural human reaction to push when someone gets right up in your face. It's a fine line to take a close pic while respecting someones fair space.

Applying the word "assault" to a little push sounds so litigious. (We must be in the USA.) I guess I was "assaulted" about a thousand times at the last Tool concert Mosh Pit :D

Go Kimi!
