F1 2010: The return of the Red Baron, and a new chapter in the sport.

7 Time World Champion Schumacher is back as part of an all German lineup at Mercedes . . .

. . . Alonso's ready to drive the new F10 alongside a recuperated Felipe Massa for the Scuderia . . .

. . . and Vettel has marching orders . . .

. . . as he sees red of a different type.

There will be plenty of competition amongst the top teams this year . . .

. . . with little doubt Button's next challenge will be bigger than his last.

As you probably have heard, several new teams have been working towards a place on the grid in 2010, and it's with a heavy heart that many US Formula 1 fans have learned that US F1 Team will not be competing this season.  The latest interview with the team suggests there's currently a wait while the FIA considers what to do with the team's request for a spot on the 2011 grid.

Among the new teams who will be on the grid in 2010, one you've heard of has been re-introduced - Lotus racing.

The famous name in racing marks the return of the green and yellow . . .

. . . and the nephew of one of it's legendary drivers . . .

. . . brings back his late uncle's name to Formula 1

A huge thank you to the 120+ F1 fans who made it out to get the new season off to a great start.  It was pretty inspiring to see so many new and returning faces out for what was the largest gathering of F1 fans on the West Coast - bar none (video).

For the next race we're going to be watching a LIVE broadcast from Australia this Saturday - the flag drops at 11pm - at San Francisco at Zeke's Diamond Bar.  (RSVP)  This event will fill up the venue and seats go quickly - so join us early for racing from down under with a pint of your favorite brew on tap.  Food is served on the weekends at Zeke's, and we're working with Zeke's staff on a later kitchen closing time.

Next stop:  Melbourne . . .

. . .and drivers are wondering if new rules in F1 are a new dawn or early sunset.

Meanwhile, F1 celebrates it's 60th year with some originals . . .

. . . and 40+ years of Cosworth power to the wheels.

Will Ferrari stay on top down under?

Or will Red Bull find more spark this race?

Thanks to our friend Paul-Henri Cahier for these great images from the racing in Bahrain two weekends ago - we'll be raffling these off
after the races Saturday night thanks to Terry Griffin of Griffin Motorwerke.

To keep up to date with the latest from Paul-Henri, you can find The Cahier Archive on Facebook - thank you again for supporting our sponsors.

As a special note - earlier this month marked what would have been 3 time world champion Ayrton Senna's 50th birthday, and all are invited to view what Paul-Henri captured during the Brazilian's amazing rise and triumph in the sport.

We look forward to seeing you at the races!
